Drivers please be aware the 96th Street and Cyntheanne Road intersection , also known as 1000 N and 400 W , will be closed due to a new roundabout being put in. Construction begins May 29th!

🚧 From the City of Fishers Indiana Government:

Please be advised of an upcoming ROAD CLOSURE associated with the roundabout construction at 96th Street and Cyntheanne Road. Construction is scheduled to begin on May 29, 2026. During construction, the intersection will be closed to through traffic.

A new roundabout is planned for the intersection of 96th Street and Cyntheanne Road to improve traffic flow and safety in the area.

⭐️ Life Saving Award ⭐️

On May 4, 2026, Officer Simpson was presented the Life Saving Award by Police Chief Patrick Bratton and VTFD EMS Chief Kiely Culberson for his actions on December 23, 2025.

On that day, Officer Simpson responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. One individual suffered a severe leg injury with significant blood loss. Officer Simpson quickly evaluated the situation and immediately applied a tourniquet, slowing the bleeding and stabilizing the individual.

While enroute to a trauma center, the patient began to experience shock. VTFD medics continued critical life-saving care, including administering a unit of blood to help stabilize the patient during transport.

Because of Officer Simpson’s decisive and timely actions, a tragic outcome was prevented. Not only was the individual able to retain their leg, but—more importantly—they survived the accident.

The coordinated efforts of all first responders on scene played a vital role in the patient’s survival, and we thank them for their dedication and service.👏🚓🚑🚒

Congratulations, Officer Simpson!

🚲Let’s talk E-Bikes/E-Motor devices!🛴

Recently, we’ve received several concerns regarding the use of e-bikes within our community. The influx of e-bikes and other e-motor devices (scooters, unicycles, mini bikes, etc.) is something being seen not only here in Fortville, but in communities nationwide. These devices have become extremely popular and are used daily on sidewalks and roadways.

With their increasing presence comes increased responsibility. Unfortunately, we have observed/been notified some individuals—especially juveniles (under 18)—operating these devices in an unsafe or reckless manner.

The Town of Fortville is currently in the process of amending local ordinances to include regulations for e-bikes and other e-motor devices. Once completed, individuals who operate these devices improperly may be subject to ordinance violations, fines, confiscation, or towing.

We expect all riders to operate e-bikes and e-motor devices safely and responsibly, including:

* Wearing proper safety gear
* Following traffic signs and signals
* Obeying posted speed limits
* Using due regard for pedestrians when riding on sidewalks

Downtown Usage:
If you are visiting Main Street on an e-bike or e-motor device, we strongly recommend walking it through the downtown area. Foot traffic can be heavy at times, with pedestrians frequently entering and exiting businesses.

Our goal is to keep motorists and pedestrians safe—and, most importantly, to ensure the safety of those operating these e-bikes and e-motor devices.
