💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜
Every child deserves to grow up in a home where they feel safe, loved, and protected yet for too many, home is the place they experience fear and instability.
Domestic violence doesn’t just impact the adults involved; its effects ripple through every part of a child’s world. Children who witness violence in their homes often face emotional trauma, anxiety, and lasting challenges in trust and relationships. These are not “invisible” wounds they shape how a child sees the world and themselves.
That’s where CASA volunteers step in. As Court Appointed Special Advocates, we stand beside children who have been removed from unsafe situations, ensuring their voices are heard in court and their needs are never overlooked. We advocate for stability, healing, and hope helping them find their way toward safety and belonging.
This month, we honor the survivors, remember the victims, and reaffirm our commitment to breaking the cycle of violence one child, one family, and one voice at a time. 💜
