Today is in the US when we honor those who work, and have worked, in all types of roles. Did you know that labor unions helped our country’s workers by fighting for paid family leave, paid sick leave, child labor laws, the American Disability Act, minimum wage, health care, and more! The fight continues for workers’ right during ever changing economic, social, and political landscapes. I’m proud to come from a working class family, and grateful for unions that fought for my mother Hanna when she worked for the US Postal Service.
