As summer rolls into West Alabama, teachers are honored with the Golden Apple Awards, featuring a year-long lease of a Mercedes-Benz for one exceptional educator, celebrating their hard work and dedication.

The Tuscaloosa County School System has immediate openings available for bus drivers!

TCSS has a New Driver Training Class beginning June 2. The class provides all training needed to become a bus driver. TCSS also provides training for bus aides.

These positions offer health insurance, retirement benefits, and opportunities to drive more when you are available. The positions work well as a part-time job or with other work schedules.

This week we celebrate an incredible teacher, friend, and blessing to so many… Happy Retirement to Kim Mitchell after 27 years in education! 🍎❤️

For nearly three decades, Kim has poured her heart into her students, her classroom, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, dedication, patience, and love for children have left a lasting impact that can never be erased.

Kim shared that she is most thankful to God for blessing her with the health and strength to teach all these years, along with a supportive husband, wonderful friends, and the many children who filled both her classroom and her heart.

Now, a beautiful new chapter begins — one filled with family time, grand-kids, sweet moments with her precious 94-year-old dad, new adventures, more traveling, and finally getting to sleep past 6 AM! ☀️✈️💛

Thank you, Kim, for loving kids well, encouraging others, and making work a brighter and happier place to be. Your legacy will live on through the countless lives you touched along the way.
