Tara Lamar - Trustworthy - Loyal - Prepared to Serve
Tara became a champion of FHUSD when her son entered PreK at McDowell Mountain in August 2007 at age 3. Over the last 15 years she has been a volunteer steward for the district donating thousands of hours of time ... always learning, listening and striving to uplift the district. They continue to live in the same home, raising their children wi
th the same neighbors and same friends the children have known their entire lives. Tara's family exemplifies being a "Falcon for Life". Their oldest will proudly be a PreK-12 Falcon graduate in 2023. He’s competed on multiple varsity athletic teams and attends EVIT. Their daughter began PreK at McDowell Mountain; is a Junior on varsity Pom and is a competitive dancer. While her family enjoys celebrating the successes achieved through athletics, Tara has a clear grasp on IEP/504 students as well as the learning loss students have suffered in a post Covid era. Tara’s family has had to navigate through IEP, 504’s and learning loss; familiarizing themselves with protocols, procedures and governmental policies in the process. Tara knows the vital role qualified, dedicated teachers provide in overcoming these challenges and is focused on providing competitive wages, strong teacher retention and a safe learning environment. Tara has her finger on the pulse of our district. She maintains open dialogues with students, parents, teachers, staff, and administration to recognize what’s working and what needs to be reevaluated to meet the high expectations of stakeholders. She regularly attends Governing Board meetings/ work study sessions, tri weekly public administration meetings and will attend governing board directed committees as an observer if she’s not actively on the committee. Tara has spent the last 15 years in FHUSD as a continuous volunteer steward. Her commitments have included:
- FHPTO Board Member for 4 years (President for 3 years and 1 year Past President)
- FH Athletic Booster Club Board Member- Media and Communication
- FHHS Site Council -currently in 3rd year
- FHMS Site Council -4 years
- MMES Site Council -3 years
- Special Committees … including 6x on interview committees (superintendents, principals, assistant principals), the inclusion committee and the communication committee. Tara has been an actively licensed Realtor in Fountain Hills since 2000. She knows the importance of a successful school district and its correlation to maximizing local property values. Tara wants to focus on building relationships with both the town and the FH Chamber of Commerce to showcase the unique benefits our local culture brings to our boutique district. With a career focused in sales and marketing Tara brings a fresh perspective in branding and building FHUSD into the excelling district it deserves to be renowned for. The bottom line ... Tara will bring a loyal, knowledgeable team player to the board who will work tirelessly to grow FHUSD’s Falcon Pride.
