🚒🔥 Today, we proudly recognize International Firefighters’ Day

At Fountain Hills Fire Department, this day is about honoring the dedication, courage, and sacrifice of firefighters here and around the world. Every call answered comes from a commitment to serve something bigger than ourselves.

We’re grateful for our team who show up day and night to keep our community safe, especially as we head into the hotter, high-risk months here in Arizona.

🌵🔥 Even though it’s only April, please keep brush fire prevention top of mind.

As temperatures rise and conditions dry out, the risk of brush fires increases quickly. A small spark can turn into a fast-moving fire in seconds, especially on windy days.

🚫 Please do your part to keep our community safe:

• Never toss ci******es out of your vehicle 🚗🚭
• Check for dragging chains on trailers
• Avoid activities that create sparks in dry areas
• Use extra caution on windy days 🌬️

It only takes one spark to start a wildfire. Thank you for your help in keeping our community safe!

Thanks to funding approved by the Town Council, our Fire Department has received and is finishing training on 24 brand-new SCBAs (self-contained breathing apparatus), replacing older units and giving our firefighters the latest in life-saving technology.

These new SCBAs provide enhanced safety features that help our crews do their jobs more effectively when every second counts.

We’re grateful for the continued support from our Mayor and Council in prioritizing public safety and ensuring our firefighters have the tools they need to protect our community.

🚨📞 It’s National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week

This week, the Fountain Hills Fire Department proudly recognizes the calm voices behind the chaos, our 911 dispatchers through the Mesa Regional Dispatch Center.

They are the first to answer the call when seconds matter most.
Their work often goes unseen, but it is vital and we appreciate the hard work and dedication to our community.

Our crews are with Fort Mcdowell Yavapai Nation Fire Department on scene of a vehicle fire along SR-87 north of Town.

This is a single vehicle crash that ignited a fire, which extended to the nearby brush. Firefighters have a handle on the fire. A medical helicopter is transporting one occupant to a trauma center in serious condition.

This is Southwest Wildfire Awareness Week, a key opportunity to focus on fire preparedness and prevention.

Packing a go-bag is one of the first steps of wildfire season. Learn more about what it is and how to pack it. If you have one packed already , great! It’s time to dust it off and make sure it has all the correct Ps: prescriptions, pet and people needs, papers, photographs, personal computers, and plastic (credit cards).
