🚧 Road Closures for the Juneteenth Festival will begin at 12PM🚧

As we prepare for the Juneteenth Festival tomorrow, Friday, June 19, please be aware that several downtown roads will be closed to accommodate the event.

Please review the list of road closures below and plan your travel accordingly if you'll be in or around downtown. We encourage motorists to allow extra travel time and use alternate routes when possible.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we celebrate this community event. We look forward to seeing everyone on Main Street from 3:00–9:00 PM!

Today, we pause to honor the Charleston 9, the nine firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty during the Sofa Super Store fire on June 18, 2007.

Their courage, dedication, and selfless service will never be forgotten. As firefighters, we carry their legacy with us and remember the lessons learned from that tragic day.

The Fountain Inn Fire Department stands with the Charleston Fire Department, the families of the Charleston 9, and the entire fire service as we remember these heroes.

Gone, but never forgotten. ❤️🖤

Captain Thomas Stevens and Engineer Thomas Williams recently attended the South Carolina Fire Rescue Conference in Myrtle Beach, where they presented a class titled "Main Street USA." The session focused on firefighting tactics and considerations for fires in older downtown areas.

We are proud to see our firefighters sharing their knowledge and representing Fountain Inn Fire Department on a statewide stage. 🚒🔥

The summer heat is here, and Ember wants to remind everyone to stay safe when temperatures rise!
☀️ Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
☀️ Take frequent breaks if you’re working or playing outside.
☀️ Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.
☀️ Walk pets during the cooler morning or evening hours, and remember that hot pavement can burn their paws.
☀️ Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke and seek help immediately if someone becomes ill from the heat.
Ember’s favorite way to beat the heat? Finding a shady spot, staying hydrated, and taking it easy during the hottest part of the day. 🐶💧

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Touch-A-Truck on Saturday, June 6! Our Fire Marshal, Fire Chief, and A Shift firefighters enjoyed meeting the community and showing off the fire engine and all the tools we use to serve Fountain Inn.

From climbing into the truck to exploring equipment and trying out the sirens, it was a great day of hands-on fun and learning. We’re grateful for the chance to share what we do and connect with so many families. Thank you for coming out and supporting your Fire Department!

As a fire dog, I know a thing or two about heat—and summer pavement can get hotter than you think. Before you take your furry family members for a walk, remember to check the pavement first.

If you can't comfortably place the back of your hand on the asphalt for 7 seconds, it's too hot for your dog's paws.

☀️ Walk during the cooler morning or evening hours
🌱 Choose grassy routes when possible
💧 Bring plenty of water
🐾 Keep those paws safe from burns

A little extra caution can help make sure every walk is a tail-wagging good time!
