Earlier this month, an FVPD officer conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations. During the stop, the driver was identified as being on federal probation.

Corporal Kelly and PSD Pomix conducted an open-air sniff, and PSD Pomix alerted on the vehicle. A subsequent search led to the recovery of more than 1,800 Xanax tablets and over $14,000 in cash.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of narcotics sales. Great teamwork by patrol, and great job Pomix!

We’ve said it before, and we will say it again: don’t drink and drive. We promise a ride share is cheaper than the cost of replacing a telecom box (among other court fines and fees commonly assessed for DUI drivers).

This Memorial Day Weekend, we encourage you to plan a safe and sober ride home. If you witness suspected drunk driving, please call 911.
