🚒 Hanover Fire Supporting Out-of-State Wildland Response 🌲🔥

Hanover Fire Protection District is proud to support ongoing wildfire efforts beyond Colorado. Early this morning, our crew deployed on Type-3 Engine 3511 to assist with operations near Lake City, Florida.

Leading the assignment is Engine Boss AJ Harris, joined by two firefighters from Security Fire Department and one firefighter from the SOCO Interagency Wildland Team. This strong, cooperative response highlights the importance of interagency partnerships and the shared mission of protecting lives, property, and natural resources.

While our personnel are away, Hanover Fire remains fully staffed and ready to respond here at home. Mutual aid and regional partnerships ensure continued coverage for our community.

Please join us in wishing our crew a safe deployment as they represent Hanover and Southern Colorado with professionalism and dedication. 💪🔥

🚨 Hammer Fire Update – 100% Contained 🚨

The Hanover Fire Department is pleased to report that the Hammer Fire is now 100% contained. Crews will remain in the area over the next several days, actively monitoring for hotspots to ensure continued safety and full extinguishment.

With ongoing dry weather conditions and expected wind gusts, residents may notice ash columns, blowing ash, and even dust devils. This is normal under current conditions; however, we encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report any concerns.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our agency partners and the community for their incredible support during this incident. Evacuation assistance, shelter operations, and coordinated response efforts were critical to a successful outcome.
