September 5 – Fall TLPOA Meeting, 10:00 a.m., Lots 43 & 44

September 5 – Annual TLPOA Picnic, 5:30 p.m., Lots 43 & 44

The cookout will be on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at lots 43 & 44 (at the end of Echo Lane. Social time begins at 5:30 pm and dinner will follow at 6:00 pm. Thank you to Carl and Connie once again for hosting this event. Please bring a covered dish to share, as well as your favorite refreshments. The provided main entrée will be grilled chicken, along with condiments and tableware. Please bring along your lawn chairs.
This fun-filled event is free, however, don’t forget to have some extra cash on hand to participate in the 50/50 drawing. Tickets for the 50/50 are $1.00 for one ticket or $5.00 for six tickets. These activities will help offset the cost of this event.
We will also have the White Elephant raffle. When choosing an exchange gift for the White Elephant raffle, maybe you can find that whimsical banana phone, a Big Mouth Billy Bass, a leopard print steering wheel cover or even an oldie, but
goody Thigh-Master. All are welcome! Feel free to bring your weekend guests and invite your new neighbors. We encourage new residents to attend. This is a great opportunity to gather around, meet your neighbors and have a wonderful time. See you there!

🛶 Thunder Lake Kayak Race 2026 🏆

We had 8 participants in this year’s race and what a race it was!! There was a neck and neck finish between 1st and 2nd place 😄 Congratulations to C**t for taking 1st place, with Brant coming in a very close 2nd.

Here are some photos of today’s event. Congrats to all who participated and congratulations to C**t, who proudly accepted the Thunder Lake trophy from last year’s champion Brant.

Looking forward to another great race next year!

Thunder Lake Kids Kayak Race

The Thunder Lake Kids Kayak Race is planned for Saturday, July 4th at 11 AM. This free event is for children under 16. Please have your kayak and participants ready on the water near lot 11 at the wide end of the lake near Benson Road. Have a kid but need a kayak? We may have one available for you!

Please RSVP the number of children and ages to Jesse at [email protected] by Monday, June 29th so we can plan for the number of participants and prizes!

The coveted Thunder Lake Cup is set to be defended by last year’s champion. There will also be other prizes and goodies for participating racers.

Thunder Lake will be treated for the following on Tuesday, June 16th:

5.50 acres of Eurasian Milfoil with Diquat dibromide @ 1 gal/acre + 8 PDU ProcellaCOR
1.50 acres of Starry Stonewort with Flumioxazin @ 150 ppb + Chelated copper @ 3.6 gal/acre
Please see the attached map for areas to be treated. These areas were determined by the survey taken on June 10th.

Please be aware there will be a boat with a gas motor on the lake during this time.

Hello,

It's that time of year to survey the lake! Rick Buteyn from Progressive will be conducting the lake survey tomorrow, June 10th prior to the Lake Improvement Board meeting in Ludington. There temporarily will be a boat with a gas motor in use. They will be recommending what w**d treatments to use based on their survey. Treatments will be done at a later date.

The loon babies also will be hatching this week so please, as always, give space for the loons.

Attention: A turtle has laid her eggs near the fork in the road on Benson Road heading toward Reid Road. The nest has been marked with stakes. Please use caution in this area and help protect the nesting site.
