I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you to the Fowler community.

I know the Fourth of July looked a little different this year with Stage 2 Fire Restrictions in place, but the overwhelming majority of you understood why they were necessary and respected them. That doesn’t go unnoticed.

We did have one person light off a firework while our officers were on the other side of town, but once patrols increased throughout the evening, we didn’t observe any other illegal fireworks.

Because of your cooperation, Fowler made it through the holiday without any major fire-related incidents. In a time when so many communities are dealing with devastating wildfires, that’s something we can all be thankful for.

I also want to thank everyone who takes the time to engage with us on our posts. We appreciate the encouragement, but we also appreciate the constructive feedback. It helps us grow. We’re people too. We care deeply about this town, we take our jobs seriously, and we’re always working to be better than we were yesterday. We won’t always get everything perfect, but you have my commitment that we’ll continue to listen, learn, and do our best to serve this community with professionalism, honesty, and respect.

Thank you for looking out for your neighbors, supporting your first responders, and helping keep our little town safe. It is an honor to serve as your Chief of Police, and I’m proud of what we continue to accomplish together.

Water Service Update

Water service has been fully restored, and repairs have been completed.

As the system re-pressurizes and stabilizes, it may take approximately 8 hours for water pressure and service to return to normal throughout town. Some residents may notice temporary fluctuations in pressure or water clarity during this time.

A huge thank you to our Town of Fowler Public Works Department for their hard work, long hours, and dedication to getting this repair completed as quickly and safely as possible. We truly appreciate their commitment to serving our community.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding throughout this repair.

Quick water update from the town:

The replacement part that was supposed to arrive yesterday still hasn’t shown up. Our Public Works crew has been at it since early this morning working on a temporary repair to try and get the water back on for everyone through the holiday weekend.

As soon as the replacement part gets here, they’ll make the permanent repair. We’ll keep everyone updated as we know more.

Thanks for hanging in there with us, and a big thank you to the Public Works crew that’s been putting in the hours to get this taken care of.

🚨 STAGE 2 FIRE RESTRICTIONS NOW IN EFFECT 🚨

Effective immediately, the Town of Fowler has implemented Stage 2 Fire Restrictions for a period of 30 days.

With the Fourth of July holiday approaching, the Fowler Police Department will be strictly enforcing these restrictions to help protect our community.

During Stage 2 Fire Restrictions, the following are prohibited:

🔥 All open burning, including bonfires, campfires, burn barrels, trash burning, ditch or field burning, and any other outdoor fire not specifically exempted by ordinance.

🎆 The sale or use of all fireworks within the Town of Fowler.

🚬 Outdoor smoking, except while inside an enclosed vehicle or building, at a developed recreation site, or in an area at least three feet in diameter that is completely cleared of all flammable materials.

🛠️ Welding or operating an acetylene or other open-flame torch, unless the work area is at least 30 feet clear of flammable vegetation and an appropriate fire extinguisher or water supply is immediately available.

Limited exemptions remain in place for items such as indoor fireplaces, gas-fueled appliances, properly permitted commercial fireworks displays, authorized government personnel acting within their official duties, and activities specifically permitted under the Town ordinance.

Enforcement

Violations will be enforced throughout the duration of the fire restrictions. In addition to any other penalties authorized by law:

• Ground-based fireworks: $250 fine

• Aerial fireworks: $1,000 fine

If circumstances warrant, additional criminal charges may also apply under Colorado law.

Why These Restrictions Matter

Colorado is currently experiencing dangerous wildfire conditions driven by prolonged drought, critically dry vegetation, high temperatures, and strong winds. Multiple large wildfires have burned tens of thousands of acres, destroyed homes and businesses, forced evacuations, and stretched firefighting resources across the state. Most tragically, three wildland firefighters have lost their lives and two others remain seriously injured while protecting Colorado communities.

These restrictions are not intended to take away anyone’s Fourth of July, they are intended to prevent the next wildfire before it starts. One spark is all it takes to threaten homes, farms, businesses, first responders, and lives.

We appreciate the cooperation of our residents and visitors as we work together to keep Fowler safe. Have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day week, and please celebrate responsibly.

📢 Message from Town Administration and Public Works

Due to an extensive water main break, the hard water line will be temporarily shut off while repairs are completed.

This will only affect the outside water connections at your home.

At this time, repairs are expected to take several days due to the extent of the damage. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews work to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.

🚨 PUBLIC SAFETY MESSAGE – SEVERE WEATHER RESPONSE 🚨

During tonight’s tornado warning, Fowler Police, Fire, EMS, Dispatch, and emergency management personnel were actively tracking storm activity, relaying information, and working to keep our community informed and safe.

Unfortunately, several motorists chose to drive toward the storm and, in some cases, pulled in front of emergency vehicles operating with emergency lights activated in an attempt to get a better view of the tornado.

Please remember:

🌪️ A tornado warning is not a spectator event.
🚔 Emergency vehicles need immediate access to roadways and storm observation points.
⚠️ Pulling in front of emergency vehicles creates unnecessary hazards and delays critical information gathering and response efforts.
🏠 When a tornado warning is issued, your safest place is a sturdy shelter, not the driver’s seat of a vehicle chasing the storm.

We understand severe weather can be concerning, and many people want to know what is happening. However, our first priority is protecting lives and providing timely information to the public. We ask everyone to give emergency responders the space they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.

We appreciate the many residents who took the warnings seriously and sheltered in place. Thankfully, this storm passed south of town and no significant injuries have been reported.

Stay weather aware, stay safe, and please leave storm response to trained emergency personnel.

📢 COMMUNITY REMINDER: TOWN CURFEW ORDINANCE

We’ve recently seen an increase in curfew violations and juvenile-related incidents within the community. Several residents have mentioned they were unaware of the town’s curfew ordinance, so we wanted to provide a friendly reminder.

Under Town Ordinance 9.32:

• Minors under the age of 16 may not be in public places or other unsupervised areas between 10:01 PM and 6:00 AM.

• Minors ages 16 and 17 may not be in public places or other unsupervised areas between 12:01 AM and 6:00 AM.

Additionally, parents and guardians may be held responsible if they knowingly allow a minor to violate the curfew ordinance.

Please also remember that all town parks are closed to the public from 10:00 PM until 6:00 AM.

Our goal is not to issue citations but to keep our youth safe, reduce opportunities for crime and vandalism, and maintain a safe community for everyone. We encourage parents and guardians to discuss these rules with their children and know where they are during late-night hours.

🚔🚨UPDATE🚨🚔

Through a coordinated investigation, Fowler Police Department has identified three juvenile suspects responsible for both the burglary in the 100 block of West Cranston Avenue and the criminal mischief in the 200 block of Main Street. Investigators have determined the incidents were connected and isolated in nature.

Charges are being submitted through the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

We would like to thank everyone who provided tips, surveillance footage, and information during this fast-moving investigation. The assistance from our community played an important role in bringing this case to a quick resolution.

At this time, there is no known ongoing threat to the public.

All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Fowler Police Department is requesting the public's assistance regarding an ongoing burglary investigation.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. on 6/3/2026, three individuals forcibly entered a building in the 100 block of West Cranston Avenue. The same individuals are also believed to have attempted to break into a business in the 200 block of Main Street. The suspects were observed traveling on foot.

We are asking residents and business owners in the area to review any Ring, security camera, or surveillance footage between approximately 2:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. If you observe any suspicious activity, individuals walking in the area, or anything that may assist investigators, please contact the Fowler Police Department.

Even footage that may seem insignificant could provide valuable information.
