The Fowlerville Senior Center was contacted by Allison Krys, of the Oakland / Livingston Human Services Agency (OLHSA) regarding a supplemental food assistance program from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
The supplemental food assistance program delivers "Shelf Stable" food once a month - shelf stable means boxed food, canned goods and bagged food stuffs.
The Fowlerville Senior Center has decided to participate in this food assistance program to not only assist our members but also anyone in the community - whether you are a member of the Fowlerville Senior Center or not...
If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, come to the Fowlerville Senior Center, Monday through Friday from 8:30A -1:00P and fill out the application
The application requires minimal personal information.
NAME = your name
CURRENT MICHIGAN RESIDENT = yes
NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD = how many people live with you
HOW ARE YOU ELIGIBLE:
"NEED" – do you need supplemental food assistance
"INCOME" – almost everybody meets the income level which is 300% above poverty level – in Michigan that is $47,880.00 per year. If you make less then you qualify.
"PROGRAM" = are you on an assistance program (you don’t have to state which one)
DATE = date you sign up
The food boxes would be delivered on the third Thursday of the month, to the Fowlerville Senior Center for individuals / families to pick up.
Thursday, June 18 will be our first food delivery.
Stop in at the Fowlerville Senior Center to fill out the application and we will take care of getting it to OLHSA
