📚☕ It’s Book Club Week! ☕📚

Yesterday, we headed to a local coffee shop in Fox Lake to discuss last month’s book, The Thursday Murder Club. There was plenty of great conversation, a few laughs, and, of course, coffee!

Today, we kicked off our next adventure by handing out our new book, The Fault in Our Stars. We started things off by reading the first 10 pages together—and we’re already looking forward to seeing where the story takes us! ❤️📖

Every resident has a story worth preserving.

This month's theme "A Night at the Museum", will have our communities become living museums where memories, traditions, and life experiences take center stage. Through treasured keepsakes, family stories, music, photographs, and meaningful conversations, we'll celebrate the incredible journeys that have shaped each resident's unique legacy.

As we celebrate our Charter Wide Fun Day, National Museum Day on September 26, we invite everyone to become both a storyteller and a curator of the moments that matter most. We encourage families to join us by sharing photographs, treasured mementos, and meaningful stories that help bring each resident's personal museum to life.

Together, we'll discover that the greatest exhibits aren't found behind glass. They're found in the people who call Charter home.

Sometimes the best days are the ones when we throw our plans out the window and head to the park! 💕

We celebrated her ALL week long- from going full WICKED 💚🧙‍♀️, to rocking her favorite color 💕, to everyone dressing like Kristin herself! 😂

It was a week full of laughs, fun, and lots of love for the woman who truly helps hold this place together! Kristin, thank you for everything you do, for always showing up, and for keeping us all going- even through the craziness! 😂❤️

We appreciate you more than you know and hope you felt just how loved and celebrated you are.

Today we learned how to play cribbage! Some of us had played decades ago and just needed a little refresher, while for others, it was brand new. 😊

We watched a great instructional video, learned the basics, and then spent the rest of the morning putting our new skills to the test. 🎴🃏

We spent the afternoon expanding our horizons at the Hologram Zoo! It was such a unique experience and something completely new for many of our residents. 🦒🐘

We love finding opportunities to step outside of our everyday routines, try new things, and continue discovering all that life has to offer. There’s always something new to experience and another memory waiting to be made! 💗✨

Our August Resident Spotlight shines on Kathy S!

Kathy spent 20 years as a teacher, sharing her love of learning with others. She still enjoys spending her time reading books and working on crafts alongside her fellow residents. When it comes to treats, you can always make her smile with chocolate, and you'll often find her tapping along to her favorite rock & roll tunes. Christmas is Kathy's favorite holiday, and if she could travel anywhere in the world, she'd love to fly to Paris one day.

We're so thankful to have Kathy as part of our community and love celebrating all the joy, creativity, and kindness she brings each day. Congratulations, Kathy, on being our August Resident Spotlight! 💙
