August is National Immunization Awareness Month—a reminder that trusted, understandable information can help families make informed decisions about their health.

JFS of Metrowest is proud to work with our collaborative partner, The Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action, to bring reliable vaccine information to families and encourage conversations with trusted health care professionals. Together, we’re bringing Lily the Llama Helps Her Herd back into the community as an approachable way for parents and children to learn about the importance of the MMR vaccine.

Community health is built through trust, communication, access and partnership.

As the report reminds us, building a healthier MetroWest is something we do together.

JFS of Metrowest is grateful for the important role MetroWest Health Foundation plays in strengthening the health and well-being of our region.

We encourage our community to explore “Woven Together” and learn more about the Foundation’s work throughout MetroWest.

Thinking about adding an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) to your property?

The Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) is launching an ADU Incentive Program to help eligible homeowners determine whether an ADU is feasible on their property. Through a professional feasibility study, homeowners can better understand:

🏡 Site conditions and property constraints
📋 Local zoning and permitting requirements
💧 Utility considerations (water, sewer, and energy)
📐 Preliminary design options
💲 High-level cost estimates

The best part? A feasibility study helps you explore your options without committing to building an ADU. It's an opportunity to make informed decisions before investing significant time or money.

If you live in Metrowest and would like to learn more about how this opportunity may apply to your property, JFS is here to help.

Complete our interest form and a JFS representative will contact you to discuss your options:

📢 Stand with Haitian TPS families. Stand with the immigrant community.

Join advocates, community members, and partner organizations for the Protect Haitian TPS Rally and help send a clear message to our elected leaders: Haitian families deserve protection and stability.

With the July 24 deadline approaching, this is a critical moment to show up in solidarity. Organizers are calling on U.S. Senators to support S. 4814 to help protect Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for more than 350,000 Haitian community members, including friends, neighbors, coworkers, and essential workers.

🗓 Thursday, July 23, 2026
🕛 12:00 p.m. (Noon)
📍 City Hall Plaza – City Circle, Boston

Bring your family, friends, coworkers, and community members. Together, we can demonstrate the strength of our community and advocate for immigrant families.

Aging alone doesn't mean facing life's challenges alone.

More older adults are navigating healthcare decisions, planning for the future, and managing daily life without nearby family or a built-in support system. The good news? You don't have to do it alone.

JFS of Metrowest's Geriatric Care Managers provide personalized guidance, care planning, advocacy, and connections to resources that help older adults remain safe, independent, and confident as they age.
