Fatal Assault Under Investigation in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Framingham Chief of Police Lester Baker have confirmed the ongoing investigation into a fatal assault that occurred on Waverly Street in Framingham.
Today at approximately 12:20 p.m., Framingham Police received a 911 call from a residence on Waverly Street reporting an assault and an unresponsive female. Upon arrival police located a 33-year-old female dead inside. Police have arrested Flavio Alcantra Dias, 43, in connection with the assault. He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow in Framingham District Court on the charge of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the Flavio Alcantra Dias was known to the victim. This is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Framingham Police.

Welcome Officer Henao to the FPD Family!

Please join us in welcoming Officer Daniela Henao who is being sworn in this morning!

Officer Henao has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Suffolk University. Prior to joining the Framingham Police Department, Officer Henao served as a counselor at MCI Framingham. Officer Henao grew up in Framingham after moving to the community from Colombia at the age of nine. Having spent most of her life in Framingham, she has developed a strong connection to the community and is proud to now have the opportunity to serve the community she calls home. Congratulations and welcome to the FPD family!

Members of the Framingham PD participated in the 3rd Annual Capt. Billy Spalding Memorial Softball Tournament hosted by Newton PD. Framingham was able to secure a victory against Braintree in the championship game! Well done FPD!
