Metrowest Worker Center

Metrowest Worker Center Worker Center & Community non-profit in Metrowest. Worker's Rights are Human Rights!

Metrowest Worker Center/Casa del Trabajador/Casa do Trabalhador is a community based worker center advocating for the rights of immigrant workers in the Metrowest area of Boston, MA (primarily Brazilian, Kichua/Indigenous Ecuadorians, and Latino immigrants). We were founded in 2007 as a service and advocacy center for immigrants experiencing abuse in the workplace, but moved to grassroots communit

y organizing in 2009 with the foundation of a Consejo (Workers' Council). Using direct action, legal support, leadership development, and collaboration with allies, we fight against a number of problems experienced in the workplace by our community, such as wage theft, worker compensation, racism, and workplace abuses. Our primary focuses as an organization are on fighting wage theft and advocating for workers applying for worker's compensation.

📣 Please Join us in our effort to urgently raise funds for direct support to immigrant families affected by workplace injury / unjust labor practices, ongoing housing, legal & other crises including the recent wave of ICE aggression in our communities.

Families have been torn apart and community systems de-stabilized by these recent immigration sweeps leading to the aggressive detention and incarceration of individuals who not only serve as family breadwinners, but also as community pillars. Their challenges--including cruel detention by federal authorities--translate to costly legal expenses, housing and food insecurity, children losing parents, medical and transportation challenges, as well as the need for emotional comfort and mental health support.
