A political culture of Liberty seeks friends, not enemies. The power of freedom is in the bringing together of diverse individuals who don’t need to agree on everything to collaborate and coexist harmoniously. We reject extremism as the fast track away from the peace and prosperity of a liberal, pluralistic, democratic republic.

A culture of freedom has no time for the politics of grievance, resentment, or retribution. Liberty is forward-looking. Settling old scores has always been the politics of losers.

LAMA, the Liberty Alliance of Massachusetts, salutes the jury in Adams County, Ohio for finding Afroman not guilty on all counts.

Afroman is the free speech and civil rights warrior we didn’t know we needed until he rapped his way into American legal history, and into our hearts. Qualified immunity prevented Afroman from recovering damages in court, so being creative, he turned lemons into Lemon Pound Cake and mocked the Sheriff’s deputies with their own illegal and unprofessional conduct that damaged his property on video.

Regrettably, in a petty action against the jury’s findings Judge Hein used his discretion to order court costs be split by both parties, so this amounts to punishing the not guilty. Ohio law allows judges to order court costs to be paid by the losing party, which would have been the respectful thing to do. So maybe Judge Hein needs a rap music video of his own.

BREAKING🚨 A man was choked to death by ICE guards, and DHS hid his body at a military base to block the autopsy.

His name was Geraldo Lunas Campos. When the county medical examiner finally performed an autopsy, the conclusion was devastatingly clear: his death was ruled a homicide.

But here is the detail that should make your blood run cold.

When another man recently died at that exact same ICE facility, the Department of Homeland Security didn't call the local medical examiner. Instead, they moved his body to a nearby U.S. Army base.

And that Army base is now flat-out refusing to release the results of the autopsy.

This was revealed today by Senator Dick Durbin in a horrifying congressional hearing about the explosion of deaths in ICE custody under the Trump administration.

Eight people have already died in ICE custody in just the first two months of this year alone. Many of them died from easily treatable illnesses.

911 logs show ICE facilities are completely overwhelmed, ignoring basic human rights.

But moving a body to a military installation to dodge a local homicide investigation? That isn't just negligence. That is a coordinated, state-sponsored cover-up.

They are operating mass detention facilities with zero accountability. They are treating human beings like they are disposable. And when their guards cross the line, they use the full weight of the federal military apparatus to hide the evidence.

We are watching human rights abuses happen on American soil, funded by our tax dollars. We must demand the autopsy report.

A culture of Liberty doesn’t do “separate but equal.” We understand that the real power of Liberty does not come from being able to wall yourself off, but from breaking down barriers to creative collaboration between people and places.

People who love Liberty don’t “take their ball and go home.” Yes, liberal thinkers recognize that it *is your ball*, and *you have the right* to take it and go home. But then the game stops. The game can be scary, and the outcome uncertain, but within that uncertainty is a huge upside potential which is always present when creative people with differing viewpoints and talents play together.

A culture of Liberty sees the dignity of all people, who are inherently worthy of a self-determined life. No special rights or privileges emanate from “blood and soil.” Liberty is universalist, or it is nothing.
