We want to share this video clip from a call Frankford Fire was on near Vago Rd and US 219. This was due to the severe thunderstorms that moved through the county this afternoon.

The fire and smoke is coming from a down power line that is still energized. The line that was cauing this fire and smoke scene had fallen and crossed a separate live transmission line. The 120 house was on several other electrical hazard calls that didnt not have this smoke and fire to let everyone know that there was a clear and present danger, but the lines were still energized!!!!

If you come across any downed or low hanging utility lines keep away, treat these lines as they are still energized!!! Keep a safe distance away from hazardous utility lines and repoet them to 911.

Yesterday, Frankford Volunteer Firefighters attended and assisted with Airport Rescue and Firefighter training at the Greenbrier Valley Airport. Frankford Firefighters worked along side GVA ARFF members, Lewisburg, and Rainelle Firefighters to complete this years training.

With the received precipitation, Wildfire Danger has lowered to MODERATE. That does not mean for anyone and everyone to go burn their brush piles!! The state of West Virginia still has the Spring Wildfire Burn Restriction in place. All requirements within this state law must be followed or individuals are subject to fines and penalties by the state of WV, which are being enforced!

Conditions can change very quickly for wildfire occurrence and growth. Use caution and be vigilant when having any outdoor fire anytime, especially in the spring, fall, and when dry conditions are present. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Over the next few days, the weather conditions are prime for wildfire potential. Fire danger is HIGH. The state of West Virginia is currently in our Spring Burn Restriction Season.

At this time, Frankford Fire recommends holding off on any outdoor fires. Later this week, precipitation is forecast for the region so the fire danger may decrease some. We will keep our communities advised of future changes. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
