In theory, one would think that when rain comes down on snow, it would all wash away, because rain being liquid, it is warmer than its solid brother, snow. However, this is often not the case. The rain mixes with the top layer of snow, creating slush, which packs the snow harder, and then freezes into dangerous ice. The rain has no where to go, as the snow corrals it in place, so you end up with nice skating rinks, but bad sidewalks, driveways, parkinglots and roads. We cannot plow ice. If you wait to call us until after ice forms, we cannot help you. Be smart. Call us while it's still fluffy. You will be happier in the long run.
