🚧 ** W. Sauk Trail Crossing Construction Alert - 9/2/26** 🚧

Heads up, Frankfort! Canadian National Railway (CN) will be making necessary repairs on the crossing at W. Sauk Trail starting tomorrow Wednesday, September 2nd. This work requires a road closure for approximately 1 day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Detour signs will be up so be on the lookout!

Join Mayor Keith Ogle and the Village Board for a FREE Community Shred Event on:

📅 Saturday, September 19
⏰ 9:00 AM–11:00 AM
📍 Village Administration Building, 432 W. Nebraska Street

This convenient drive-thru event provides secure, on-site shredding for your personal documents. Please remain in your vehicle and staff will assist with collection.

Event Guidelines:
✅ Two-box limit per vehicle
✅ Boxes approximately copy-paper size
✅ Loose paperwork only

🚨 Please arrive early! The event may end before 11:00 AM if the shredding truck reaches capacity.

🚨 State Disaster Proclamation Issued for Will County 🚨

Governor JB Pritzker has officially issued a Gubernatorial Disaster Proclamation today 8/18/26 for communities impacted by the severe storms that affected Illinois during July and August 2026. Will County is among the counties included in the proclamation.

The declaration recognizes the significant damage caused by tornadoes, straight-line winds, heavy rainfall, flooding, downed trees, power outages, and damage to public infrastructure across affected communities. The proclamation also authorizes additional state resources to support response and recovery efforts and may help facilitate future state and federal assistance. The proclamation remains in effect for 30 days. Information about Illinois disaster proclamations is available through the State of Illinois.

The Village of Frankfort would like to thank our staff, Public Works crews, first responders, utility partners, neighboring communities, and the many residents who have worked tirelessly to assist with cleanup and recovery efforts.

We appreciate everyone’s patience, cooperation, and resilience as recovery efforts continue throughout our community.

The Village of Frankfort invites residents ages 62 and older to join us for a morning of breakfast, conversation, and community!
