Come stop by Liberty Hall on June 18th from 4:30-6:30 pm to hear a panel discussion on Juneteenth and its significance to Frankfort, Kentucky as well as an exhibit! Please register with the QR code in the post!

The City of Frankfort, in partnership with FORR and Liberty Hall, invite the community to a Juneteenth Community Conversation panel event. Moderated by Kristie Powe, hear from community leaders about the history of Juneteenth and its relevance in our local community. Come early to experience Liberty Hall's exhibit, Journeys and Generations: The Interwoven Families of Liberty Hall.

Please note, the panel discussion will be held in the second floor gallery of Liberty Hall. Due to the historic nature of the home, the room is not ADA accessible. The event is free but seating is limited. The panel discussion will be recorded via audio and video for the City of Frankfort Podcast and made available to the public.

Tourism is economic development! The sector is a vital pillar of our strategic plan developed with Garner Economics, LLC and always has been part of our DNA. Thanks to all of you - it’s a growing sector! Tourism supported 1,283 local jobs and nearly $39.8 million in labor income and generated $13.1 million in state and local taxes.

Every visitor who enjoys our attractions, shops our unique offerings, and eats in our restaurants helps fund the services we rely on. In 2025, tourism brought $174.7 million in visitor spending to Franklin County.

Thanks for making the community the best of Kentucky distilled into one spirited package! Our gracious people, filled with civic pride, and our natural resources, art and culture, and dynamic businesses fuel this economy. We all have a part to play! Kelley Anderson, the Executive Director of the Thorn Hill Education Center spoke at our quarterly employer breakfast event this morning. We thank Kelley for her time, expertise, and dedication to our community.

The services provided by Thorn Hill are extremely necessary for people of Frankfort & Franklin County, as well as useful for our business community. We will continue working close with Kelley and Thorn Hill to allow our community to utilize these services more.

The NEW Paddocks connector road, an extension of Limestone Drive, is now open! This is another HUGE step in the development of the Paddocks. We are so excited for the growth this development will help spur.

We want to thank Mayor Layne Wilkerson of Frankfort and Michael Mueller, Franklin County Judge Executive for their constructive work and support. We are all so EXCITED! Jason James Taylor thank you and Pat Madden for your investment. We also thank Renee and Don Parsons for their initial investment and look forward to christening D.G. Parsons Drive when the development opens.

We also thank Governor Andy Beshear and Jim Gray and the Commonwealth for their vital leadership in bringing this to our community.
