Books for young readers now on our shelves @ the Lilian Lindsey Bookstore in the library. Store hours are Friday-Saturday 10-2 and Monday-Thursday 10-6.

NEW Collection! We're adding Experience Passes to the Library -- check out a pass for free admission to a local museum or attraction!

Each Experience Pass not only includes admission for you and your family, but also information about the attraction, so you can plan your visit. Passes check out for one week (no renewals) and can be placed on hold. Only one Experience Pass per family at a time, please. Just ask at the Check Out Desk!

Our first five Experience Passes will be to the Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington Children’s Museum, Liberty Hall Historic Site, Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, and Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary. We plan to add more Experience Passes as we grow this collection.

Just a reminder for those who enjoy Christian fiction, the Lilian Lindsey Bookstore has a good selection of Christian fiction and we just put a bunch on the reduced shelf! Come visit us!

We are so sorry to hear we have lost Dolly but we love this message from Brandon.

A beautiful message about Dolly from PSPL staff member, Brandon:

"Growing up in a library setting and having spent a large portion of my career in libraries, Dolly was so much more than a country music singer. Yes, she was a larger than life cultural icon revered and loved, but she was also a beacon of hope who believed that literacy was of the upmost importance to a child’s development. With that, she started to Dolly Parton Imagination Library. She was inspired to do so after seeing that her father’s illiteracy made his life extremely difficult in his older years. Her heart, from the very beginning, was always intent on helping others, even before she had anything to give. The Imagination Library was just one of many of her philanthropic efforts. Although I am not from Appalachia, I am Appalachian adjacent, and the Imagination Library has changed countless lives across the region. The Tennessee Mountains may have been her home, but the world was blessed enough to be her heart. We were all so lucky to stand in the light Dolly chose to shine. She was one of a select few celebrities who truly practiced what they preached. Words cannot begin to express how great of a loss this is to those of us who felt like Dolly was part of our family.
