On this Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on the powerful vision and enduring legacy of a man who dedicated his life to fighting for justice, equality, and peace. Dr. King’s words and actions continue to inspire us to stand up against injustice, to strive for a world where every person is treated with dignity, and to never stop dreaming of a brighter future.

Today, we honor his memory by not only remembering his accomplishments but by committing ourselves to the work that still lies ahead. There are countless ways we can continue his mission—through small acts of kindness, speaking out against injustice, and supporting policies that promote equality for all.

As we remember Dr. King, let’s ask ourselves: What can we do today to make his dream a reality? It starts with us—together.

There are only TWO days left to give! The CFC’s online giving system closes tomorrow - Wednesday, Jan 15.

Don’t forget that as Soldiers, Federal, and state employees we can make TWO types of contributions through the CFC. We can give a monetary donation AND pledge our volunteer time. If you really want to be generous, do both!

It adds up to so much happiness when we give together. It takes at least TWO: me and you. GIVE HAPPY today at GiveCFC.org.

Two of our Army Guard Soldiers were honored by Gov. Andy Beshear during last night’s State of the Commonwealth address in the House Chambers at our state capitol.

SGT Grayson Johnson and SPC William Price each received the Purple Heart and Combat Action Badge as a result of drone attacks at Tower 22 in Jordan last year.

"As much of an honor that it is, I want people to know this is a team effort," said Johnson. "This is about the 138th Field Artillery Brigade teams involved."

The Soldiers received a standing ovation from the governor, members of the Kentucky House and Senate and the Kentucky Supreme Court as well as guests and visitors.

Gov. Beshear has always been supportive of the Kentucky Guard and was honored to have these two present at the event.

"The National Guard has also been protecting us abroad," said Beshear. "Last year we welcomed 700 of our Soldiers home from overseas deployments. Each of these Soldiers spent time away from their families to defend our country and to preserve our way of life and for that we thank them."

0ver 250 Kentucky Guard Soldiers are working to keep our community's safe after . From helping clear roads to making sure people get where they are needed, we're dedicated to helping out when called upon.

There are currently 38 ongoing missions that Kentucky Guardsmen are tasked with to provide support to county emergency management until civilian authorities regain the ability to support their communities with their organic assets.

One of the missions tasked out was escorting doctors, nurses, and emergency responders through the storm to reach their destinations. One of which was Sherrie Judson, a licensed practical nurse at Bradford Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Frankfort.

"I didn't think I would have any issues getting to work since I have a four-wheel drive SUV," she said after being picked up after her SUV was iced over in her driveway. "I never thought I would need a ride in a Humvee to make it to my job."
