Kentucky State University Faculty, Staff, and Students,

We want to inform you that the University is actively monitoring the current weather conditions. While there are no immediate concerns, it's crucial for us to be prepared and informed in case of any escalation to warning levels.

Your safety is our top priority, and it's imperative that we all take weather alerts seriously. In the event that weather conditions escalate to a warning level or the Office of Emergency Management activates the tornado sirens, it is essential to follow the emergency preparedness and response information provided below:

1. Protect Yourself: Seek shelter immediately to protect yourself from lightning and flying debris.

2. Move to Interior Rooms: Stop what you're doing and move to an interior room or hallway on the building's lowest level.

3. Avoid Doors and Windows: Stay away from outside doors and windows to minimize the risk of injury.

4. Refer to Emergency Floor Plans: Familiarize yourself with recommended shelter locations marked on the emergency floor plans posted throughout campus buildings.

We encourage everyone to stay informed and aware of their surroundings during severe weather events. Please heed any official advisories or instructions issued by local authorities and the University.

For additional information and updates, please refer to our official communication channels, including email, social media, and the university website.
