๐Ÿšจ***SCAM ALERT***๐Ÿšจ

This afternoon, the Frankfort Police Department received several complaints from citizens regarding an attempted scammer. The scammer uses a spoofed phone number that will appear on your phone as if they were calling from the PD. The scammer identifies himself as Detective Dale Briggs and states that you owe "$_____" for writing fraudulent checks and that you may settle over the phone. The Frankfort Police Department does not employ anyone named Dale Briggs. This is also not how law enforcement agencies conduct business. Thank you to those who have called in and made us aware of this scammer. As always, Frankfort, never give out your personal/banking/credit card information over the phone to anyone that you are not positive who they are. Stay safe and stay warm!
