Citizens Distinguished Achievement Award - Jessica Wooldridge
For extraordinary service and dedication demonstrated on August 13, 2024, during the search and rescue of an endangered missing person. Through her actions, Ms. Wooldridge embodied the core values of service, commitment, loyalty, and community that the Frankfort Police Department holds dear. Her selfless dedication to assisting law enforcement in their duties, undertaken voluntarily and at personal risk, demonstrates the extraordinary impact that dedicated citizens can have on their community's safety and well-being.
William A. Hartung - Commitment to Service Award - Sergeant Jonathan Presley
The Frankfort Police Department Commitment to Service Award recognizes an officer, staff member, or volunteer who has exhibited outstanding dedication to service, professionalism, and commitment to the Department's mission. This award honors individuals who consistently go above and beyond in their duties, demonstrate integrity, and positively impact the agency and community through engagement, leadership, and service.
Medal of Merit - Officers Maurice Byrd and Oscar Guevara
On the evening of February 13, 2024, Officer Maurice Byrd and Officer Oscar Guevara of the Frankfort Police Department demonstrated exceptional meritorious service in response to a structure fire at 121 Allnut Drive. Officer Byrd, with the direct support of Officer Guevara, executed a critical rescue operation by reaching through a smoke-filled window to extract the trapped resident. The victim, found in severe distress and covered in soot, was safely removed from the building moments before the structure was entirely engulfed by fire.
Medal of Valor - Sergeant Jonathan Presley and Officer Andrew Humphries
For extraordinary bravery and valor demonstrated on June 17, 2024, during a high-risk pursuit and armed suspect intervention on Interstate 64 in Franklin County. These officers exemplified law enforcement professionalism through their coordinated actions and mutual support in the face of clear and obvious peril. Their exceptional judgment in employing less-lethal options, combined with their tactical precision and teamwork, resulted in the peaceful resolution of an armed confrontation that posed imminent danger to all involved.
Medal of Valor - Sergeant Craig Gonzalez and Officer Logan Sutton
For extraordinary bravery demonstrated on February 28, 2024, while responding to a critical incident involving an armed person. Through their coordinated actions and mutual support in the face of clear and obvious peril, these officers exemplified the highest standards of law enforcement professionalism and demonstrated extraordinary commitment to preserving human life. Their teamwork and decisive intervention reflected great credit upon themselves and upheld the finest traditions of the Frankfort Police Department.
Telecommunicator of the Year - Anikka Gillispie
The Telecommunicator of the Year award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated exceptional performance beyond standard expectations. This honor celebrates not just professional excellence but also the compassion and resilience required to manage high-stakes communication effectively, which can literally save lives. Recipients of this award represent the highest standard of public service, embodying the qualities of empathy, quick thinking, and unwavering dedication.
Officer of the Year - Anthony Catania
The Officer of the Year award represents the highest recognition of excellence within our Department. It celebrates an individual who exemplifies the foundational values that guide our service to the community: courage, respect, integrity, service, commitment, and loyalty.
