Kentucky Public Pensions Authority This is the official page of the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA). The first actuarial valuation of SPRS was conducted June 30, 1959.

Currently, KPPA serves over 433,000 active, inactive and retired members and administers approximately $26.9 billion in assets. The Kentucky Employees Retirement System (KERS) was created in 1956 by the Kentucky General Assembly in order to supplement the benefits provided by Social Security. When the first actuarial valuation was completed June 30, 1957, there were 16,000 employees participating

in KERS and assets of $2.8 million. The State Police Retirement System (SPRS) and County Employees Retirement System (CERS) were established in 1958. No actuarial valuation of CERS was conducted until June 30, 1960 because the statutes did not authorize retirements from the system prior to July 1, 1960. On June 30, 1960, there were 68 counties and 2,617 employees participating in CERS, and SPRS included 415 uniformed state troopers.

If you wish to be enrolled in health insurance for the 2027 plan year, you will be required to submit a Health Insurance Enrollment Form (6200) during this period.

✨If you do not submit an enrollment form by October 31, 2026, you will not have coverage in 2027.

Non Medicare Open Enrollment information will be available online by the last week of September. Please review these materials to prepare for enrollment. An Open Enrollment book will be mailed at the end of September.

✨We strongly encourage you to enroll online. It will be the fastest and easiest way to complete your enrollment form. There will be no need to print or mail any forms. Log in to Self Service beginning October 1 to review and submit your enrollment form. You will need your 4 digit PIN to submit the enrollment form.

Tech Support Scams Are Increasing

Scammers are pretending to be tech support or bank employees to trick people into giving login info, including MFA codes and one time passcodes. They claim your device has a problem, then pressure you to act fast. Once they have your credentials, they reset your password and take over your accounts.

Watch for:
• Pop ups saying your computer is “infected”
• Unexpected calls about urgent tech issues
• Pressure to install remote access software
• Requests for payment or account details

Protect Yourself:
• Ignore unsolicited warnings—pop ups and calls can be fake
• Never allow remote access unless you initiated the call
• Don’t share personal or financial info with unexpected callers
• Verify by calling the company using its official website
