Have you recently moved to Kentucky and need assistance transferring your out-of-state vehicle title?
To apply for a Kentucky title, please bring the following items to your local County Clerk's office:
- Proof of Kentucky Insurance (issued within the last 45 days)
- Kentucky Photo ID
- Completed TC96-182 Form and a signed-over title. If your state only provides a registration or bill of sale, those can be accepted instead (please ensure signatures are notarized).
- Affidavit (If the name on your title differs from your ID, provide an affidavit showing they are the same. Acceptable documents include a marriage license or divorce decree.)

"The KYTC, Division of Motor Carriers is pleased to announce the launch of new online website functionality for the following: Taxi, Limo, Bus, TNC companies, HHG "House Hold Goods," utility trailers and intra-for hire authority!
This can be accessed from the Motor Carrier Portal by selecting "What Can I do?" and selecting which credential you have. Our website- drive.ky.gov, has guides under Household Goods & Passenger selections to help you navigate through the new website.
You are now able to do the following:
• access the application 24/7 and apply for authority/license
• renew a license
• add and remove vehicles from their license
• submit insurance (Form E)
• and pay online!
