Franklin County Fire Department Toy Drive, 106 Darby Shire Circle, Frankfort, KY (2025)

The organization was founded by local firefighters and inspired by retired Chaplain Lee Brewer. The Toy Drive has been providing for the children of Franklin County, Kentucky for over 25 years. We operate on a donation basis and are fortunate to be able to depend on the community to support our organization. Not only do individuals donate time and money, local businesses provide funding and other

donations, also motorcycle clubs and local offices operate mini toy drives on our behalf. Additionally, we have held basketball and golf tournaments as well as many other fundraisers. The program is open only to residents of Franklin County, Kentucky for children from the ages of 1 to 10 years old. Every year in late fall, we accept applications from local parents who list their children, s*x, and age. They are required to submit proof of income, a photo id and the children's birth certificate in order to participate. Once the application process is complete the list is compared to be sure that the children are not enrolled in another charitable organizations Christmas program. Parents are then notified whether or not they have been accepted into the program and given a date and location for pickup. The toys are stored at a local fire department and arranged by s*x and age. We receive and provide many types of toys from crayons and coloring books, to sport balls and bicycles. Not to mention a large assortment of Barbie dolls, trucks, stuffed animals, baby toys, books, arts and craft kits and much more. It is a great task that we have taken on and it is our pleasure to help ensure that children have presents under the tree on Christmas morning.

We'd like thank Mary Cardwell - Whitaker Bank, The Frankfort Post Office, Legislative Research Committee, Frankfort Regional Medical Center, Pop Shelf, Toy Burg, Nucor, 2nd Brigade Motorcycle Club, Marquee T. Dawson - BMS Soccer & WHHS Soccer, Brenda Toles Taulbee - Car Club & Advanced Auto Parts and the MANY Citizens of Frankfort for supporting the FCFD Toy Drive this year. Thanks to all of you we were able to provide Christmas presents for 167 children in Frankfort and Franklin County. We could not do this without your support, it takes a village and we are proud that you all make up our village. Thank you!!!
