Bluegrass Greensource invites you to a hands-on volunteer opportunity at Buckley! ☀

Join us on June 13th, 15th, and the 29th as we roll up our sleeves for some big, meaningful projects around the sanctuary. We’ll be refreshing our gardens, planting native species to support local wildlife, removing invasive plants that threaten our ecosystems, and maintaining trails so everyone can continue to enjoy the beauty of our grounds.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or just looking to get outside and make a difference, there’s a place for you here! Please register in advance so we can anticipate the number of volunteers.

Due to high water levels and unsafe river conditions following this week’s rain, Bluegrass Greensource is postponing Riverfest until next weekend to ensure the safety of all participants.

We hope you’ll join us next Saturday, June 6, from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Clifton Boat Ramp (15 Old Clifton Rd, Versailles, KY) 🚣‍♀️

Join us at Buckley on Tuesday, June 9th, from 5:30pm–8:30pm for our Fishing Night event! 🎣

Occasional fishing helps our pond and fish population stay healthy, but it is only permitted at our fishing nights. The Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife will be providing poles, bait, and assistance. All ages and experience levels are welcome, but fishing licenses are required for participants 16 and older.

This is a free event and registration is required. Spots fill up fast, so don't wait! 🐟

A HUGE shoutout to the educators, students, and teachers who were a part of our Outdoor Day at Buckley this weekend! Students had a blast learning about nature and ecology through engaging lessons and hands-on activities.

Interested in bringing your students to Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary for a day of outdoor learning? Buckley Outdoor Day activities can be adjusted to fit the class theme, curriculum, and needs. Students participate in multiple stations, learning about ecology, water, forestry, and/or energy with Bluegrass Greensource’s Environmental Educators.

This weekend, more than 100,000 people across 60+ countries will step outside and photograph the wild nature around them for the City Nature Challenge, and YOU can be part of it, too!

Beginning April 24–27, head outside to find plants, fungi, and wildlife. Take a picture or record a sound, then upload it to the iNaturalist.org app! Find the iNaturalist project for your city or area at www.citynaturechallenge.org.

With its bird blind, wild deer, and roaming turkey population, Buckley Wildlife Sanctuary is a great place to explore during the City Nature Challenge!
