A reminder: Locks 1-4 will be open throughout the entire holiday weekend. Enjoy the full span of pools 1-4 Friday through Monday.

With the heat advisory we currently have, the Lockmasters have been advised to keep cool as often as they can. If you approach the Lock while they’re taking a break, please be patient. These lock walls are hot!

The barge will be approaching Lock 4 around noon today, there may be delays if you’re trying to lock through during that time.

The South Fork of the KY River Tire Cleanup has been rescheduled for Saturday September 19th. Check in is 9:00am at Firefly Hills Kentucky on Pine Grove Road. Thank you Firefly for being amazing hosts. Also thanks to all the event partners and volunteers. Hopefully the river won't rise this time, and we can get to work removing all those tires!

Great water and great weather make for a great weekend on the Kentucky River!

Locks 1-4 are open this weekend.

Keep an eye out in pool 1 and 2 for the barge coming through. If you plan to lock through 2 this afternoon you might be delayed as they clean out our upper and lower approaches.

Lock Update

Lock 1 is closed today. The water is too high for safe lock operation. The dam, however, is passable for the time being. We’ll be cleaning the lock and installing our equipment but we’ll have to wait ‘til tomorrow to test it.

Locks 2-4 are open this weekend.

Lock update

Lock 1 will remain closed through the weekend.

Lock 2 and 3’s operability will be assessed today as we return equipment to the walls and testing for safe operation. We’re hoping to open them tomorrow.

Lock 4 remains open throughout the weekend.
