Docket number: CP15-88-000
I, [Name Here], am a concerned Kentucky citizen who would like to speak in favor of an Environmental Impact Statement. The foreseeable action of NGL transport through the Tennessee Gas Pipeline is a potentially significant threat to the safety of residents near the pipeline’s route, and the Environmental Protection Act says FERC must regulate the effects of the abandonment that are “direct, indirect, cumulative.”
Thus, I feel it is the responsibility of FERC to regulate actions past its abandonment, and protect citizens by maintaining utmost scrutiny of potential environmental impacts of its use as NGL transport afterward. I feel this responsibility should extend to the foreseeable conversion a) implied by quotes from Kinder Morgan representatives discussing a plan of action involving the pipeline b) due to the danger of NGLs if released into the environment and c) considering the risks associated with using an older pipeline for a denser product than that for which it was designed.
Further, I am deeply troubled by the fact that this pipeline is routed through towns and over various water sources.
As a Kentuckian, I am resistant to any further development of fossil fuel infrastructure whose safety and environmental impact is not highly examined. We are already dealing with the hazards of coal waste. We do not need the worries of NGLs, too.
Please proceed with a full Environmental Impact Statement for the protection of our people, and our home.
Thank you
