Attention 8th grade parents! Are you looking for something that:
1. Challenges your child academically with courses in English, Math, Science, and Spanish?
2. Gives them the tools, knowledge, and confidence to succeed beyond high school education?
3. Provides ACT/SAT prep?
4. Lets them live and learn on a real college campus to simulate the college experience?
5. Provides tons of fun, immersive, and educational excursions both inside and outside of Kentucky?
6. Is completely FREE for all qualified students?
If you said "YES!" to any of these, then it's time to join KSU's Upward Bound Summer Program! Upward Bound is a federally funded, high school program that supports students striving towards a college degree. We are accepting applications for current high school students at Western Hills High School and Franklin County High School, as well as graduating 8th Graders transferring to either high school next school year.
Students must meet AT LEAST ONE of the following criteria to qualify for Upward Bound:
1. Be a first-generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor's degree)
2. Meet federal income eligibility guidelines.
3. Be at risk of academic failure in one or more classes.
4. Be a US citizen or permanent resident of the US.
