We are sorry but the Boat Ride has sailed its last voyage.
Prices for fuel, price per person and prices for alcohol are out of control.
Further the demand from NYC Firefighters has dropped significantly.
What used to be a great way for nurses to meet NYC Firefighters has seen its final day. Back in the day the admission fee was $20.00 per person and you were allowed
to bring your own refreshments and also food. This went on for many years.
It was the brainstorm of Bobby Urban and his wife (yes she was a nurse).
Many who met on the Boat Ride had long lasting relationships and always came back.
In our last days we struggled to get 100 to attend, when back in the day we sold out
and even left people at the dock. The Boat only held 550. The excursion became known as the Nurse's Boat Ride. With the age of the new social media and cell phones, these social gatherings are in danger of ending for good.
Our next venture for next year is to have a day at the Races at the new Belmont Park where you can bring your own drinks and enjoy a day of betting and cheering
the horses on with plenty of parking. Hey don't forget the "Best Parade"; the Steuben Day Parade (9/19/26) and our collation at St. Ignatius. Go to our webpage to keep up to date with all of our happenings: www.fdnysteuben.org
