FALL LITTER SWEEP - SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26
The Town and has partnered with the NCDOT for the annual Fall Litter Sweep campaign. The Town will be hosting a litter clean up on Saturday, September 26 from 8:00 a.m. until Noon.

The Town will provide safety vests, trash bags, gloves and litter grabbers. The Town also encourages those who participate in the Adopt-A-Street program to perform a clean-up on their sponsored street during this time.

There’s so much happening downtown today - Artfest with lots of activities for kids and adults; the Macon County Farmers Market; Second Saturday Sip and Shop where the stores are offering discounts and showcasing new merchandise; the restaurants are open and tonight there’s a Pickin on the Square with Tuxedo Junction. Come out and visit our friendly and inviting downtown, you’ll be so happy you did!

Today is National Purple Heart Day and the Town of Franklin is proud to be a Purple Heart Community! Members of Town Council and 828Vets celebrate the installation of the first of five signs illustrating this designation. The Town of Franklin proudly supports all Veterans and appreciate their service and sacrifice.

Mayor Stacy Guffey, Councilman Jeff Berry, Councilman Joe Collins, Assistant Town Manager Sarah Bishop and Town Manager Amie Owens attended the Southwestern Commission’s Annual Dinner this evening at the Vineyard at Betty’s Creek. This event brings together elected and appointed officials to celebrate the accomplishments, achievements and partnerships within the region.

🚧Phillips Street Closure for Paving - Wednesday, July 22, 2026

Phillips Street will be closed on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 beginning at 8:00 a.m. from Carolina Mountain Drive to Wayah Street for repaving. Local traffic will have access with no through traffic allowed.
