The boss’s turn… 👏📞
Director Kristy Borden was recently recognized at the APCO International Annual Conference with her CPE cohort after earning the Certified Public-Safety Executive (CPE) designation through APCO International.
CPE is APCO’s premier executive leadership program for public safety communications professionals. It focuses on the leadership skills needed to guide organizations through the complex and ever-changing world of public safety. The program includes extensive coursework and culminates in an intensive two-week, in-person capstone course.
So yes, that’s a lot of work for one acronym!
We’re proud of Kristy for making the commitment to grow as a leader, and even prouder to have her leading Williamson County 911. Congratulations, Boss! 🎉👏

When a robbery in progress call hits the radio, there’s no room for missed details or unclear communication. CTO Mary Patterson has earned a Star Pin Award for outstanding radio performance for bringing her A-game as the Franklin PD dispatcher. ⭐️

Mary kept an even, professional tone while juggling incoming requests, coordinating notifications to multiple agencies, tracking every update and location change, and making sure the CAD record told the complete story. 📻🎯

That kind of radio performance takes focus, precision and the ability to keep a LOT of moving pieces moving in the right direction.

📞 APCO 2026: We came for the training. We stayed for the networking. And maybe the tacos. 🌮😂
Last week, members of the Williamson County 911 team headed to San Antonio for the annual APCO International Conference. And while there may be photographic evidence of some team bonding along the way, this was serious professional development. Conferences like APCO give our team the opportunity to:

💡 Bring home new ideas and solutions
🎓 Grow our skills and leadership

Let’s hear it for Brianna Scott, who is adding a Star Award to her collection after her work during a recent Williamson County Sheriff's Office TN pursuit. 🚔💨

When things got fast and complicated, Brianna kept the information flowing. She relayed all the relevant details to responding units, kept her documentation accurate and thorough, and followed every required procedure from start to finish.

And because apparently handling a pursuit flawlessly wasn’t enough, Brianna also earned a PERFECT QA SCORE. 💯👏

That’s the kind of performance that makes the difference when every detail matters.

Last week at the APCO International Conference & Expo in San Antonio, three members of our Williamson County 911 team - Chris Hazelwood, Taylor Johnson and Rachel Hill - presented a breakout session on improving the quality and accuracy of NCIC entries, the critical information used by law enforcement agencies across the country.

The trio shared how our 911 center developed a comprehensive quality assurance program to ensure NCIC entries are accurate, consistent and reliable. Attendees learned how the program provides meaningful feedback to telecommunicators and supervisors, identifies trends for targeted training, and recognizes employees for outstanding performance.

The quality assurance program was originally developed as part of Chris Hazelwood's Registered Public Safety Leader (RPL) certification through APCO and has since become an important tool for strengthening our operations and supporting professional growth.

We're proud to see Chris, Taylor and Rachel representing Williamson County 911 and sharing ideas that help improve public safety nationwide. Congratulations on an outstanding presentation! 👏📞

⭐️ STAR Award: Hope Barber ⭐️ When everything around you is moving at 100 MPH, staying steady is a skill. During a recent law enforcement pursuit, Telecommunicator Hope Barber was locked in from start to finish. 🎯

Hope earned a perfect score on her Williamson County Sheriff's Office TN pursuit review for staying calm under pressure, accurately parroting back critical information, and documenting every update from the responders involved.

While chaos unfolded, Hope kept the information moving, the details straight, and the record complete. 📻📝 That level of focus matters when seconds count.

🚨 Well … that escalated quickly. 🌧️📞🎡
What started with severe thunderstorms and a shelter-in-place at the Williamson County Fair turned into a long day of emergency calls, evacuations, flooding and water rescues across Williamson County.
Through it all, our 911 team kept managing the calls, coordinating radio traffic and helping connect residents with the resources they needed, no matter how crazy the day got.

☎️ Sometimes 911 gets to be ON the scene, too! Telecommunicator Chloe Lee and Asst. Supervisor Joanna McGee, along with Williamson County Emergency Management Agency IT Systems Analyst Lance King, spent last night at the county fair command post, helping keep the public safety operation connected and ready to expedite care when emergencies happen. 🚑📻💻
They’re part of the behind-the-scenes team helping make sure the right resources get where they need to go, while still finding time for a selfie. 😉

Williamson County 911 Supervisor Jensy Hayes is adding another accomplishment to her resume after earning the Registered Public-Safety Leader (RPL) designation from APCO International!
The RPL program recognizes communications professionals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, professional growth, and a commitment to excellence in public safety.
This week at the APCO International Conference in San Antonio, Jensy got to experience a pretty cool full-circle moment … finding her name on the official list of this year's RPL recipients! 😊
