Toddler Time

St. Mary Parish Library hosts weekly Toddler Time for babies, toddlers, and their caregivers. This fun and engaging program promotes social development and early literacy skills through singing, dancing, and storytelling. Little ones will enjoy rhymes, fingerplays, movement activities, and open-ended art in a warm, interactive environment designed just for them.

📖✨Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library — Donate Today

We are so excited to see the response to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in St. Mary Parish. In just the past two days, nearly 100 children have been approved for enrollment, and the registrations continue to come in. We are incredibly proud and grateful to see so many families taking advantage of this program.

Our goal is to have 25% of eligible children in St. Mary Parish enrolled by the end of the year. As of today, 889 children are receiving a free book in the mail each month.

As enrollment grows, so does the need for funding to keep the program going. Since launching nearly two years ago, our local program has been supported entirely by the generosity of businesses, organizations, and individuals in our community. We truly cannot thank those supporters enough.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dolly Parton, a true champion of children, books, and the power of reading.

Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she turned a simple but powerful idea into a movement: every child deserves the opportunity to grow up with books. What began as a way to help children in her home community grew into a global effort, putting hundreds of millions of free, age-appropriate books into the hands of children and families.

As a library, we are especially grateful to have had such a passionate advocate for childhood literacy. Dolly understood what we see every day: a book can open a door, spark a child’s imagination, bring families together, and change the course of a life.

We are honored to remember her, grateful for all she gave to children and families, and inspired to continue the work she cared so deeply about.

Thank you, Dolly, for believing in books.
Thank you for believing in children.
Thank you for giving generations of young readers a reason to dream.

Your legacy will live on in every child who opens a book and begins to imagine what is possible. Your story will never be forgotten. ❤️🌟📖
