Did you see us out last week? Here is what The Franklin Volunteer Fire Department was up to.

Our week started with a dispatched chimney fire response. Per run cards, FVFD responded alongside Norwich Battalion 1 and Bozrah Volunteer Fire Company. Fortunately, the incident was quickly determined to be a faulty boiler and the call was cleared without issue.

Shortly afterward, crews responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Training remained a priority this week as we conducted an extrication drill with our Cadet members, joined by several probationary and Cadet members from Bozrah Volunteer Fire Company. Members practiced vehicle stabilization, patient access techniques, triage of multiple patients, and providing care to patients with restricted access and life-threatening injuries. These realistic scenarios help ensure our responders are prepared when real emergencies occur.

Throughout the week, we also responded to several medical emergencies, including a traumatic injury involving a riding lawn mower accident.

On Saturday crews assisted with a playground build.

We wrapped up the week with multiple responses for downed trees and wires caused by yesterday's strong winds.

We are incredibly thankful for the dedicated members who continually answer the call, train hard, and serve our community with skill, professionalism, and compassion. Your commitment helps keep Franklin safe every day.
