🎓🎓 (Post 2 of 2) Yesterday was a special day in the district for our graduating seniors. Those that grew up in Franklin were able to head to their old stomping grounds and visit with past teachers and be celebrated by current elementary students! Here are some highlights from Robinwood (walking the halls), Southwood Glen (playing outside), and the nearby Indian Community School where two of our graduates attended when they were younger!

You can see all of our Elementary Grad Walk photo albums on our graduation page at https://www.franklin.k12.wi.us/franklin-high-school/student-information/graduation

Congrats, Seniors! Special thanks to our photographers Deb Niestrom (RW), Stephanie Kircher (SG), & Nicolas Poplar (ICS).

Those that grew up in Franklin were able to head to their old stomping grounds and visit with past teachers and be celebrated by current elementary students! Here are some highlights from Ben Franklin (ringing the bell, one last parachute play), Country Dale (walking the halls, seeing past teachers) and Pleasant View (receiving letters they wrote to themselves in 5th grade!)

On Monday, Southwood Glen Elementary’s Lion Leadership group, composed of 4th and 5th graders, was recognized by the South Milwaukee Optimist Club for their leadership and positive impact throughout the school year!

Lion Leadership helps make Southwood Glen a better place for everyone. This year, students helped plan assemblies, organized the Spirit Weeks, helped with the food drive, helped promote school events and also mentored younger students. Students shared during the recognition event that they enjoy being part of “big things” happening at school and appreciate the opportunity to make a positive impact on their school community.

🍦 To celebrate their hard work, students were surprised with Oscar’s Frozen Custard before receiving certificates from members of the Optimist Club in recognition of their leadership and service. Students were able to practice their handshakes and eye contact as they received their certificates!

💛 The South Milwaukee Optimist Club is dedicated to “Bringing Out the Best in Kids” and continues to recognize students who demonstrate leadership, kindness, and service within their schools and communities. We are grateful for their continued partnership and support of our students!

Earlier this week, first grade students at Ben Franklin Elementary - Franklin, WI went on a field trip to the treasured Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Bookworm Gardens encourages children to celebrate beloved books through interactive play. Students were able to visit the houses of the Three Little Pigs, see where The Onceler lives, and listen to a story in Jack and Annie's Magic Treehouse. A special thank you to the Ben Franklin PTO for facilitating this special event!

Yesterday, Pleasant View Elementary School’s Panther Pride Leadership group, composed of 4th and 5th graders, was recognized by the South Milwaukee Optimist Club for their leadership and positive impact throughout the school year!

Panther Pride helps make Pleasant View a better place for everyone. This year, students helped lead the Fall Food Drive, organized and participated in the All School Read initiative (including helping select the book, “Dogtown”!), and provided valuable feedback connected to student engagement data and school improvement efforts.

Board Member Mike Spragg was also on hand to congratulate the students and they were able to practice handshakes and eye contact when receiving their certificates :)
