🚧ROBERTSON COUNTY 🚧

TxDOT will temporarily close FM 2293 between Joe Peach Road and West Sammy’s Road beginning Tuesday, June 2, 2026, in Robertson County.

This closure is needed so crews can install two drainage crossings as part of an ongoing project. The road is expected to be close for about four days. During this time, drivers will be directed to a signed detour around the work zone. Knife River Corporation – South is the contractor on the project.

Drivers should plan for extra travel time or choose an alternate route if possible.

After a few days of hot and dry weather, a weak cold front will help trigger scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening across North and Central TX. A few of these storms could be strong with gusty winds and frequent lightning. Coverage of storms is about 20-30% across the region.

As temperatures moderate throughout the week, storm chances are also expected to return to the region. Tuesday will still be hot with highs in the low to mid-90s with the potential for isolated thunderstorms (generally along and east of the I-35 corridor). Overnight into Tuesday, isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible across all of North and Central Texas. By Wednesday, rain chances shift to be generally along and west of the I-35 corridor. The severe threat both Tuesday and Wednesday is very low, though few strong storms will be possible during the afternoon and evening hours. The strongest storms each day will bring the potential for gusty winds, small hail, and frequent lightning.

PLEASE SHARE OUT: FM 2549 at Hwy 6, Union Pacific RR is doing maintenance on the crossing today. This should be reopened by 6pm today.
