Dear R&S,
Year Fourteen was truly a dream. This season’s theme was “There’s No Place Like Home,” and throughout this year, that’s exactly what we proved. Together, we celebrated everything that makes this community feel so special.
We celebrated senior dancers taking their final bows. We celebrated adults stepping onto the stage for the very first time during our FIRST EVER Adult Showcase. We welcomed new programs like Baton (Hooray for Tiny Twirlers!), and classes like Dance Exploration continued to remind us that dance truly has a place for everyone. We watched teens who once grew up in our studios begin stepping into leadership roles and serving younger dancers. We watched instructors cheer on their students every step of the way. And through it all, I had the incredible privilege of watching the magic unfold from stage left.
This year, R&S hosted FIVE recitals. From dancers to staff, to vendors and patrons, we were able to celebrate Tennessee's music, artists, and culture with nearly 2,500 people. And while the dancing, flowers, coffee, photos, videos, guest service, and smiles were all exceptional, what we really celebrated was each other. This dance community is something truly special. There really is no place like home.
One of our adult students recently shared these words: “For this little ballet class in the middle of the country, in a quaint little town, in the center of the universe, I am perpetually grateful.”
I could not agree more.
To our dancers, dance families, R&S staff, WCPR staff, vendors, volunteers, and every patron who came to experience the magic — thank you. I am perpetually grateful for each of you and honored to have served this community throughout Year Fourteen.
And now… I cannot wait to see what ✨MAGIC✨ Year Fifteen has in store for us.
Love, Mrs. Brittney
