One of the villages in Myanmar where we’ve supported schools has suffered a tragic bombing, forcing our high school students to set up makeshift shelters far from the school while primary students and teachers hold classes in the cave.

Our team has already started regular feeding for the students, but we need urgent help to provide:
● tarpaulin for temporary roofing to protect the children during the rainy season
● whiteboards for their outdoor classes
● solar lights for those in the caves
● mosquito nets for over 90 high school students and teachers sleeping on the riverbanks

Due to COVID 19 travel restrictions, many that have been displaced by violence in Mindanao are being put at even greater risk.

JPPF is working to minimize the impact of the pandemic and slow the spread of COVID-19 on the already vulnerable internally displaced person (IDP) children and their families. We are improving establishing water systems to promote good hygiene, we're ensuring education and protection of the boys and girls we support, and we're building a house of peace for dialogues and collaborative partnerships in conflict torn areas.

Due to school closures throughout the country, children’s education is being put on hold. JPI is supporting the educational needs of at-risk children as they go back to school by paying for their tuition fees, providing school supplies, uniforms, learning materials and equipment. We also allocate financial support for the indigenous volunteer teachers and build schools in indigenous communities.

We are seeking donations of learning equipment such as laptops, TV monitors, internet, and solar power systems for school children located in the far-flung indigenous communities in Mindanao.
