Happy Labor Day weekend!

When new equipment is purchased training with it is a must before the emergency happens. Tonight we trained with our new sked stretcher. After that we went out and trained with our new Elkhart portable monitors. Being prepared and ready is half the battle when that big call happens.

This morning we responded to a possible structure fire on James rd. On arrival E-11 found lite smoke coming from the structure. After a quick attack the fire was contained to a bathroom. We were assisted by Cowee Volunteer Fire/Rescue, Clarks Chapel Fire-Rescue and Squad 4. The tenants are being assisted by red cross. Thank you all that responded.

Just after 1:00 a.m., crews responded to a mulch fire. Heavy equipment on site assisted firefighters with accessing and extinguishing the burning material.

Tomorrow our children go back to school here in Macon County. Watch for school busses making stops. Be patient so everyone gets to school and home safely.

ROLL OVER MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Crews responded to a roll over accident this evening on E Palmer St just after 6 pm. All occupants were out the vehicle when crews arrived. Two patients were transported to ER non-emergency. A parked car was involved in this accident. E Palmer st was closed for about an hour while the scene was being cleaned up. Thank you to Franklin Police Department and Macon County EMS for responding to this incident.

After strong thunderstorms moved through the area yesterday evening, it turned into a long night for our crews. We responded on automatic aid to two structure fires, one in Station 18’s first due and another in Station 13’s. Later, we sent a crew to Highlands to assist Station 12 with a large commercial fire off Dillard Road.
