PLEASE DO NOT FLUSH WIPES OR TOWELS

Please help protect our sewer system by not flushing wipes, paper towels, cleaning cloths, or other non-flushable items down the toilet.

To our water customers:

The Town of Franklin Water Department is required to provide the notice posted here as a result of a clerical error made by the West Virginia Department of Health during the conversion of information from an older computer system to a newer system.

Please be assured that there are no health or safety concerns with the Town of Franklin's drinking water. The water remains safe for consumption and continues to meet applicable drinking water standards.

The notice is being provided solely because of a regulatory requirement established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The notice does not indicate that there is a contamination issue, water quality violation, or threat to public health.

We understand that a drinking water notice may understandably cause concern, and we want to make clear that this notice is administrative in nature and is not the result of a problem with the Town's drinking water.

We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any concern or inconvenience this required notice may cause.

On Monday, August 10 we will be doing waterline maintenance on 220 South just past high water bridge. Traffic delays will occur during this time. Please use alternate routes if you can.
