The Franklin Township Fire Cadet Program gives students in the community a fun opportunity to learn about their fire department. As cadets, you will get a “behind the scenes” understanding of the FTFD and learn how firefighters do their jobs. Cadets will meet department personnel and receive hands-on training in different skills that include:

Apparatus familiarization
Equipment and tool familiarization
Hose and ladder operations
Search and rescue
Self-Contained breathing apparatus

Cadets have ranged in age from 15 to 19 years old and all have loved it. Some attend alone, and others do it with family members.

The training is a fun and easy way to see demonstrations and you can participate at your own comfort level !!!

Graduates of the Warren County Fire Academy have often stated that they were surprised at how much of the FTFD Cadet Training Program is hands-on and feel apart of the FTFD Family! Please contact FTFD at 937-746-9811 if you would like more information about this program!!
