A big thank you to Franklin Department of Parks & Recreation for inviting the Franklin Police Department and Franklin Fire and Rescue to share lunch with the amazing kids at Kids Camp during Heroes Week!

We had a great time enjoying lunch, meeting so many wonderful campers, and spending time talking, laughing, and making memories together. Opportunities like these help build positive relationships and remind us what a great community we have.

Thank you to the Parks & Recreation staff for organizing such a fun week and for including us. We appreciate all you do for the children and families of Franklin!

What an incredible week at the Franklin Police Department's Kids Camp! 👮🚓🎉

Throughout the week, campers:

🚔 Took a tour of the Franklin Police Department
⚖️ Witnessed courtroom testimony and learned about the judicial process
🚲 Explored the Bike Patrol Unit
🛡️ Got an up-close look at the SWAT Team
🐕 Met an amazing K-9 Unit and learned how they assist officers
🚒 Visited with the Franklin Fire Department to see how first responders work together
🔬 Stepped into the world of Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) to learn how evidence is collected and processed

The week concluded with a special graduation ceremony, where each camper was recognized for their participation and enthusiasm. We are so proud of these young citizens for their curiosity, teamwork, and eagerness to learn!

A huge thank you to all of our officers, firefighters, and community partners who made this camp possible. We hope this experience inspired our campers and strengthened the bond between our department and the community we proudly serve.

Congratulations to our 2026 Franklin Police Department Kids Camp graduates! 🎓👏 We can't wait to see you again next year!

Search Warrant/ Malicious Wounding Investigation

On 24 July 2026, at approximately 8:30 a.m., the City of Franklin Police Department, with the assistance of the Virginia State Police, executed a search warrant in the 200 block of South Main Street. The location, referred to as “On Iron Therapy” is a property utilized by the Outcast Motorcycle Club.

The search warrant is part of an ongoing investigation into a malicious wounding incident that is alleged to have occurred during an event held at this location on 18 July 2026. The investigation remains active, and additional information will be released as it becomes available and when appropriate to do so.

The City of Franklin Police Department thanks the Virginia State Police SWAT team and is appreciative of their assistance.
