Due to the devastating tornadoes, their internet is currently down and they're not sure when they can restore it. The City's website should be back up as soon as the internet service is restored at BGMU. Thank you for your patience, and please keep the communities throughout Kentucky in your prayers who have lost loved ones and property.

This is from Jeff Moore, with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, who is managing the KY Statewide Transportation Survey as part of the update for the KY Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan. Currently the survey results are showing only 4 participants from Simpson County. Considering Simpson County's population and its long proud history of being very active in transportation planning, these numbers are very low. The survey is located on the KY Long Range Statewide Transportation Plan (LRSTP) website: www.GetThereTogetherKY.org

Yesterday Mayor Dixon and the Franklin City Commission paused for a picture in front of the City's "Hay Works Department" truck display as part of the Hay Bale Trail. The Commission was on their way out for a downtown community walk, checking out some of the most recently completed improvements in the downtown area. Pictured left to right are Commissioner Herbert Williams, Mayor Larry Dixon, Commissioner Brownie Bennett, Commissioner Wendell Stewart, and Commissioner Jamie Powell.

Filter Plant Road Water Line Break Update!!!

Water is back on! CORRECTION ABOUT CRESTVIEW DRIVE: it is Creekside Drive not Crestview Drive that is under a Boil Water Advisory. The repair took just a little longer this morning so a valve could be installed to split off Filter Plant Road. With this valve installed, any future outages would affect fewer people. We will post updates once the Boil Water Advisory is lifted.

Congratulations Lt. Robbie Matthews!

Congratulations to Lt. Matthews on his graduation from the Academy of Police Supervision. This extensive 3-week leadership course was held in Richmond, KY at the Department of Criminal Justice Training. Graduates of APS have acquired a multitude of mid-level leadership skills. The course is designed by the instructors to be a very demanding course that challenges the supervisors both professionally and personally. The Franklin Police Department is very proud of Lt. Matthews on this prestigious accomplishment!
