If you haven't been to FGC in a while . What are you waiting for? Golf course is good and greens are in great shape. Driving range is open and you can cool off In the pool after a round.
Reminder we have multiple leagues that are open to the public and we would love to have you join us.

Congratulations once again to Tanner Jones on qualifying for the North Carolina match play. Tanner shot 75 today at the 500 Club in Statesville to qualify for the match play at woodlake Country Club in Fayetteville. I want to take just a minute to brag on Tanner. I've watched him grow up and mature tremendously the past 5 years from winning the middle school tournament in 8th grade to qualifying for two state tournaments and being four time all conference. Many people don't realize the geographical hardship we have living in beautiful Franklin North Carolina but trying to play competitive golf. Other kids are playing 30 tournaments a year and spending maybe two nights in a hotel. I've watched Tanner travel all over three states for 5 years chasing his dream. Most kids are members at private country club ,have multiple swing instructors and unlimited access to private clubs. Tanner grew up playing FGC Sky valley and a few local courses without ever complaining. So in a world where jealousy runs rampant and everybody seems to pull against everybody. I think I can speak for everyone at FGC who has known Tanner through the years in saying congratulations, You have earned everything that comes your way. Young Harris college got a good one.
I've always said nothing replaces hard work, small town big city private country club or nine hole Muni. Always dare to dream and don't let anybody ever tell you what you can and cannot do.

Congratulations to former FHS standout golfer Tanner Jones on a recent 8th place finish at the Bojangles Junior open at Cutter Creek with rounds of 71 70 and 70 for a 3-round total of five under par. And also Tanner shot 69 in a qualifier at Lancaster golf club for the Carolina Junior boys to finish third and advance to the Carolina Junior boys at Orangeburg Country Club. Congratulations and good luck.

Congratulations to FHS senior Tanner Jones on a solo 8th place finish at the 5A State Golf championship. Tanner finished his 4 years as a 4-year all conference player and qualified for two state tournaments. Tanner has signed to play golf with Young Harris College and everyone at FGC says congratulations and good luck.

Update from 5A golf state championship at Sapona CC.
Tanner shot 73 (+2) and is currently In 8th place . Leaders are (-3). He had an unfortunate triple on #5 but bounced back and played final 13 holes at 1 under par.
