On-Farm CRAFT Event: Regenerative Soil Building Sunday, April 19, 9am - 3pm, at Driftwood Farm in Iowa, LA. They'll dive into the various practices that promote soil health, including soil coverage, minimal disturbance, biodiversity, living roots, and nutrient management and explore how these practices lead to increased climate resilience, improved water management, and an overall thriving ecosystem that maximizes the land’s potential while preserving its ecological balance. The event is free, but registration is required. Lunch is included, and any farmer who travels 30+ miles to attend will receive a $20 gas card. To register search:

Bogue Chitto-Pearl River SWCD Supervisor Election

To be eligible to run for district supervisor, a candidate must:

A. Must be a landowner or farm operator in Washington and/or St. Tammany Parish.

B. be a qualified voter.

C. submit to the State Commission a nominating petition containing the names of at least 25 qualified voters in the designated Soil and Water Conservation Districts.

The Bogue Chitto-Pearl River Soil and Water Conservation District (USDA) is excited to announce our Annual Conservation Poster Contest for students in Washington and St. Tammany Parishes!

📌 Information has already been shared with local school principals, and we also want to be sure our homeschool families have the opportunity to participate.
📌 Open to all grade levels
📌 Winners will receive recognition and cash prizes!

This is a wonderful way for students to learn about conservation while expressing their creativity through art. 🖍️✏️

Please pray for the family of Mr James B Rogers. Mr James passed away April 18th, he served on the Board of Supervisor with Bogue Chitto-Pearl SWCD for 45 years. Mr James will definitely be missed at our monthly Board meetings.
