The editorial board is the decis

ion-making group for the newspaper staff. It includes the editor-in-chief, assistant editors, and all other writers, web editors, and photographers. The board is in charge of making the decisions on what will go into the newspaper. If a controversial issue arises, it is the common assumption that there will be nothing published in the newspaper that is libelous, obscene, copyrighted, disrupting, or advocating illegal activities. At the Flash, we encourage letters to the editor so that our readers can cooperate with us to make a better newspaper. Any signed letter of which is not libelous, obscene, or regarding defamation or incitement may be accepted to be published. Letters are subject to edit for grammar and content if necessary. Please keep letters 250 words or less. Letters can also be submitted to the journalism room or in the main office, as well as via e-mail to theflash@ fraserk12.org

🔵MAC Blue Champs🔵

With Friday evenings 57-49 win over South Lake, the girls Varsity Basketball team clinched the MAC Blue League!

The girls finished league play with an 8-2 record and 14-6 overall record. The girls will go on to play Utica and Lutheran High North this week to close out the regular season and begin MHSAA District play next Wednesday vs. Chippewa Valley.

Congratulations to Senior, Hunter Lemmon on an outstanding performance at the Macomb County Championship Meet on February 7th.

Hunter won his 100 yard Backstroke event for the third consecutive year, this time setting the County record with a 50.63.

Hunter also won the 50 yard freestyle, swimming a 21.28. With this time, Hunter broke both the County Meet record AND the school record! Hunter took down the long standing record set in 1990 by Sean Peters of 21.47.

Hunter also swam the first leg of the county winning 200 medley relay and the anchor leg of the 400 freestyle relay which took third.

In addition to these feats, Hunter was named Senior Swimmer of the Meet for the County Championships and was named the MHSAA Performance of the Week.

🚨NEW RECORD ALERT🚨

Congratulations to Senior Sam Zanon on breaking the 57 year old record for Points in a Single Game scoring 45 points in the teams win over L’Anse Creuse last night.

The previous record was set in 1968 by Ron Byrd.

Congratulations Sam, good luck the rest of the season!🐴🏀

🚨Record Breaking Alert🚨

A new benchmark was set today in the 200 medley relay as Freshman-Sophomore team members Jayde Lemmon (backstroke), Kennady Blehm (breaststroke), Ysa Graham (butterfly), and Riley Tury (freestyle) achieved a record-breaking time of 2:02:72, surpassing the previous record of 2:03:43.

Exceptional performance, ladies! Can't wait to see what you accomplish next!

Cameron Martin broke the Freshman XC record held by current teammate, now Junior, Lance Edghill. Cameron ran 1647.2 en route to an all county finish.

Lance Edghill's prior record was 1654.8 from 2022!
