Apologies for the delay in getting May's report posted. We had a lot going on in the beginning of June, as you will see here. That said, here are the Department's activity reports for the months of May and June.

Please take note of the issues we have had with loose dogs, and take proper measures to ensure that yours stay confined or under your control. We also want to thank everyone for helping both Homecoming and the fireworks display run smoothly this year.

At approximately 14:36 this afternoon, we responded with Frazeysburg and Tri-Valley Fire/EMS personnel to a private property side-by-side accident on W 2nd St. The driver, and only occupant, was flown by MedFlight to Columbus due to a head injury.

We sincerely hope for a speedy and full recovery, and we also want to take this time to remind everyone that no matter where you are, or what you are driving, always be sure to wear your seat belts and drive responsibly.

Good afternoon, everyone. As of right now, things are still GO for the fireworks tonight. They may decide to start a bit early if there is a break in the heavier rain, so your best bet would be to get to your viewing spot by 9:00 PM, as there may not be an advance notice of the exact start time.

As a reminder, there is NO parking along Canal Rd before or during the show. Traffic needs to be able to flow normally to and from the park.

Canal Rd will also be shut down at Vickers Hill shortly before the show starts, and no traffic will be allowed past the park at that time due to the safety zone being in place. The road will open back up as normal after the show ends.

Have fun tonight, be safe, and hopefully dry!

Here is our activity report for the month of April.

As many of you have already heard by now, you will see that Chief Eli Bourne is no longer the chief. He has resigned from the department to take a position at another agency. While we hate to see him go, we thank him for his many years of dedication and service to the Village, and wish him nothing but the best at his new position.

Sgt. Marohl has been appointed as acting chief for the time being, with a decision on a permanent appointment to come at a later date.

Unfortunately, due to the village general fund being lower than usual this year, we are not currently able to hire a replacement full time officer. As such, please bear with us as we do our best to provide what coverage we can in the coming months, until such time that we are able to bring in the level of manpower and service that our residents deserve.

Please continue to call the Muskingum County Sheriff's Office to report any issues, as deputies will still be dispatched when our own officers are unavailable. Thank you all for your support!

We have updated the formatting for our Council/Township police reports. In addition to the basic statistics and notes that were there before, we have now included a complete log for all of the calls our agency has handled or assisted with.

This way, everyone will have a better idea of the type of activity we are involved in on a monthly basis. It's not always flashy or exciting, but you deserve to know what we're up to.

Reports for the previous month will be uploaded on or around the date of the first public meeting each month (which is usually the Township meeting on the first Thursday).
